The Thula Project / An Album of South African Lullabies is a groundbreaking 15-track musical album of South African lullabies, featuring Gloria Bosman, Yusuf Islam, Faith Kekana, Loyiso, Nana, Neo Muyanga, and Wendy Oldfield, The album includes a 36-page booklet of photographs, illustrations, lyrics and commentaries from the artists.
The Thula Project has been critically acclaimed for both its music and packaging. It was given as a gift to invited guests when Nelson Mandela was given the freedom of the city of Johannesburg.
Tracks from The Thula Project are featured in the Hollywood feature, Duma (Warner Brothers, 2005), and the television series, ER (Warner Brothers, 2006).
The album was nominated for a 2004 SAMA Award for Album Packaging, and was also a finalist for a 2004 Loerie Festival Award for Packaging.
