A 24-minute documentary on Afrikaans punk rock bank, Fokof Polisiekar (trans. Fuck Off Police Car). Choosing to sing in Afrikaans – and acutely aware of this limitation on widespread appeal – they are some of the few Afrikaans-language musicians who are questioning their heritage and critically integrating a past and present in their lyrics and style. The documentary explores the origins of the band and its punk influences, the role of a specific graphic design in album artwork and promotional material, and the future of the band’s appeal to a generational audience. The documentary was broadcast on SABC2 in November 2006, and was selected by the broadcaster for Input 2007 in Lugano, Switzerland.
