A 52-minute documentary on the Second Johannesburg Biennale 1997. Echoing the Biennale's concept - Trade Routes: History and Geography - and its six major exhibitions, the documentary focuses on a range of issues raised by the event, including the nature of contemporary art, local and global networks of meaning, cities and citizenship, travel and displacement, natives and aliens, and forms of technology in art.
